The Department of Economics offers research support programs to encourage graduate students to pursue research and support their research. We are accepting applications for incentives and expense reimbursements for papers published, presented, or submitted between July 1, 2025, and December31, 2025. Please ensure you apply within the specified period(December 24, 2025 - January 2, 2026 23:59). Graduate program alumni are also eligible to receive publication incentives.

Starting from the Fall semester of 2025, material purchase expenses will be supported.
Starting from the Fall semester of 2025, students who were invited to an international conference during their enrollment and present under the affiliation of Korea University within six months after graduation will be eligible for reimbursement of the registration fee and travel expenses within the approved limits.
Graduate School of Economics
□ Publication Incentives
○ Cash prizes for papers published between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025
○ Application Period: December 24, 2025 - January 2, 202623:59
○ Required Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, and (2) submit a PDF file of the paper by the deadline.
○ Notes: Papers published after July 1, 2024 will be reviewed and awarded every 6 months.
※ Recent graduates are also eligible: If a paper is published under the affiliation of Korea University within three years of graduation.
□ Domestic/International Conference Paper Presentation Incentives
○ Cash prizes or registration fees/(international) travel expenses for domestic or international conference presentations held between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, subject to a funding cap
○ Reimbursement of the registration fee and (overseas) travel expenses within the approved limits, or the provision of a monetary award, will be available to candidates who present at an international academic conference before August 31, 2026.
○ Application Period: December 24, 2025 - January 2, 202623:59
○ Required Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, (2) submit a PDF file of the paper, (3) a conference program file, and (4) copy of the registration fee/travel expenses receipt
□ Paper Submission/Publication Reimbursements
○ Submission and publication fees for papers (regardless of lead author status) submitted or published between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, subject to a funding cap
○ Application Period: December 24, 2025 - January 2, 202623:59
○ Required Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, (2) submit a PDF file of the paper, and (3) copy of the submission/publication receipt
□ Data Purchase Reimbursements
○ Support will be provided for data purchased between July1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, within the approved budget limit.

○ Required Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, (2) submit a copy of the receipt for the purchased materials
□ Incentives for participation in short-term and long-termtraining programs
○ Support will be provided for education/training program participated between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, within the approved budget limit.
○ Pre-application required, selection after screening
○ Application Period: December 24, 2025 - January 2, 202623:59
○ Required Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, (2) submit a copy of the training program; (3) a summary report of the training contents, and (4) a copy of the receipt for the training fee.
□ On-campus Thesis Presentation Incentives
○ Cash prizes for students who are selected to present their thesis at the graduate student thesis presentations (PhD conference) held immediately after the June and December thesis defense.
○ Application Period: Early June and early December
○ Submission Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, and (2) submit the PDF file of the thesis by the deadline.
○ Presentation Format: 30 minutes or less at a presentation open to all graduate students in the Department of Economics.
□ On-campus Research Proposal Presentation Incentives
○ Cash prizes for students who are selected to present at the research proposal presentation held in March and September
○ Application Period: early March and early September
○ Submission Documents: (1) Complete the attached file, and (2) submit the draft of your research on time by the deadline.
○ Presentation Format: 15 minutes or less at a presentation open only to applicants and evaluators

○ Beginning-of-Semester Meetings: March and September, lunch on the day of the Research Proposal Presentation
○ End-of-Semester Meetings: June and December, lunch on the day of the PhD Conference
